Alan Farthing is a British gynaecologist who was engaged to Jill Dando, the popular British television presenter, at the time of her tragic murder in 1999. The couple was set to be married in September of that year.
Dando's murder sent shockwaves through the nation and devastated Farthing and her family. In the wake of her death, Farthing retreated from public life and focused on his work as a gynaecologist.
In recent years, Farthing has spoken out about his loss and the impact it has had on his life. In a 2019 interview with the Daily Mail, he said: "It was a terrible time for me. I lost the love of my life, and I was heartbroken."
Despite the tragedy, Farthing has found a way to move forward with his life. He continues to work as a gynaecologist and is now a senior lecturer at Imperial College London.
