Born on May 16, 1955, Edgar Bronfman Jr. is an American businessman, filmmaker, theater producer, and media executive. He is the son of Edgar Bronfman Sr., the former CEO of Seagram Company Ltd. Bronfman Jr. graduated from Columbia University with a degree in economics and began his career in the family business before branching out into various other ventures.

In 1984, Bronfman Jr. founded the film production company, TriStar Pictures, which produced successful films such as "The Natural" and "Rain Man." He also served as the chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group from 1994 to 2004, during which time the company became the world's largest music publisher.
